On November 15, fishbat, Long Island’s largest digital marketing agency, announced that in addition to Randy Jackson from Zebra, Bangers & Mash, and Midlife Crisis, Cassandra House has been added to the Sand-Aid benefit concert lineup, which will be raising money for the Long Island food bank Island Harvest.
Taking place on Sunday November 25th from 12 noon to 8 PM, Sand-Aid is highlighting local musical acts including recently added Long Island native Cassandra House. Ms. House has a blues/folk style similar to vocalists Sarah McLachlan and Fiona Apple. The benefit concert, which is being sponsored by fishbat, will be held at 89 North Music Venue, located in Patchogue, NY; an area that was hit hard by Super Storm Sandy. Tickets are available at the event or through the venue’s website for $10.
fishbat CEO Clay Darrohn says, “Sand-Aid has the tagline ‘Long Island Bands Together’ for a reason. As a community, we are coming together to help fellow Long Islanders who experienced the devastation of Hurricane Sandy first hand. Long Island is still feeling the effects of Super Storm Sandy, from continued power outages to a very long clean-up process. Adding local artists like Cassie House strengthens the concept that this is a concert about Long Islanders helping Long Islanders. Our aim for this concert is to raise $20,000 for Island Harvest, a local food bank.”
Darrohn continues, “There has been a lot of talk about how social media helped people to connect with family and friends after the storm. What we’re doing is using social media to help more people. This has been an amazing experience. We are calling on our fellow Long Islanders, our friends and neighbors, to come down and enjoy some local musical talent for a great cause.”
