Happy Labor Day everyone! In the digital world, most of us need a moment to step back and take a breather from our busy lives. The summer has ended and the fall is now upon us. While we barbecue on this relaxing holiday and celebrate another season gone, fishbat is looking to disconnect this Labor Day and ‘Reconnect’ with the world around us. Reconnect is a campaign designed to encourage those connected socially, to ‘disconnect’ from social media and go outside and create something. From art to video, to inside your living room to on top of a mountain, Reconnect proposed to the masses to put the phone or laptop down and get out into the real world. Originally I had written a blog that predicted that Reconnect was going to bust. Looking back at that post I decided to give the Reconnect campaign another chance. The Reconnect campaign is going 1000+ strong and continues to grow. In observance of Reconnect, I decided to put the phone and laptop down and appreciate the world around me. I decided to disconnect and create something. So, while you are enjoying your Labor Day and your last three day summer weekend, disconnect from social media and create something. Happy Labor Day!
