Press Release: Clay Darrohn, fishbat CEO, Pumps Up For Spartan Race Benefiting Superstorm Sandy Victims

The CEO of fishbat Inc, one of the nation’s leading Internet marketing companies, expresses his excitement and sense of accomplishment in helping raise money for Superstorm Sandy victims at the Spartan Race this Saturday.

The CEO of fishbat Inc, one of the nation’s leading Internet marketing companies, expresses his excitement and sense of accomplishment in helping raise money for Superstorm Sandy victims at the Spartan Race this Saturday.

On April 13, the CEO of fishbat, Inc., one of the nation’s leading Internet marketing companies, discusses the fundraising achievements of his company for the Spartan Race event benefiting Island Harvest and Superstorm Sandy victims.

Clay Darrohn, CEO of fishbat, says the event has been a long time coming. The Spartan Race event is another way for fishbat to help raise money for Superstorm Sandy victims, Darrohn adds.

“Long Island is still not out of the woods when it comes to damage from Superstorm Sandy,” he says. “When Sandy first hit, we were one of the only companies that still had power. The rest of the island was devastated and powerless, so we offered our Internet and electricity to local businesses for free. From then on, our company organized with Island Harvest, a Long Island food bank, to help people still suffering from the storm.”

Darrohn says fishbat first partnered with Island Harvest during “Sand-Aid,” a Superstorm Sandy benefit concert in November. “This Spartan Race is another way for us to lend a helping hand and I’m very excited fishbat could be a part of it,” he says. “I feel very accomplished with what we’ve done so far and know we can do even more.”

About 40 runners from fishbat and Island Harvest will be participating in one of the hardest obstacle course races in the world on Saturday, April 13. The Spartan Race event at Citi Field in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, NY will feature 15 obstacles, including rope climbs, cargo nets and bleachers. “The bleachers are really going to be one of the hardest obstacles,” he says. “We’re going to be in Citi Field, so you know there’s going to be a lot of steps. However, I’m proud to be a part of this team and running for a good cause. That’s why we named our team the fishbattlers. We want to battle the destruction and hunger brought on by Superstorm Sandy.”

Darrohn says his team’s fundraising efforts have already raised over $7,500. All of the proceeds will be donated to Island Harvest to provide food for those Long Islanders still struggling with hunger and displacement due to Hurricane Sandy. “We just want people to show up and support the cause,” he says. “We’re still accepting donations, so if you can make a contribution, we would appreciate it. Every little bit counts!”

The fishbat team will start running at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Citi Field. To find out how to donate, visit the “fishbattlers vs. Sandy: Benefiting Island Harvest” Facebook page or the event fundraising page.
