According to the July 19th Mashable article titled “Tumblr Brings Back Activity Feed and Introduces New Notes Feature,” the social media platform has introduced a new way to see notifications, as well as a new activity feed. The feed has a few similar analytics tools to the feed that was discontinued in 2009. However, it still does not have the old Tumblarity feature, which showed how users ranked compared to others. Unlike the old analytics tool, the new feed shows only activity related to a specific blog and excludes a global stats page.

Maas says Tumblr’s Activity feed provides essential in-depth information. “The line graph is similar to Facebook’s insights, but it gives you the option of showing what has happened within 24 hours, a week, or even three days instead of just one month of activity,” he says. “There’s also a chart that shows your ‘biggest fans’ to help identify your most dedicated followers. This is a big deal because they’re the ones most likely to spread your information around, and it’s always important to engage and keep them loyal.”
