A recent article by Jeremy Olson of the Star Tribune discussed the importance of teenagers becoming social media savvy as a workplace necessity. In the article Christine Greenhow, Psychology Professor at the University of Michigan, stated, ”Social media savvy is fast becoming a workplace necessity. Employers want to hire people who can use social media well and leverage their networks for business purposes.” The article stated that although cyber-bullying is a common danger of social media, using social media with the addition of parental monitoring can benefit kids in the long run.
