In the newest episode of fishbat Splash, fishbat’s business development manager, Tim Greening, discusses Pinterest’s Web page redesign and Twitter’s birthday.

On March 23, fishbat, Inc., reacts to Pinterest’s new website redesign and Twitter’s birthday detailed in a “fishbat Splash” video.

The new “fishbat Splash” video begins by discussing Twitter’s 7th birthday. Launched on March 21, 2006, Twitter now boasts a growing number of 200 million active users. Previously, Twitter was a social network used to express personal stories. However, the video says that Twitter is now one of the major platforms for engaging with fans and consumers.

A new study, conducted by Nielsen and SocialGuide revealed that Twitter is one of the three factors that influence TV ratings. Tim Greening, the Business Development Manager at fishbat, says it just goes to show how well Twitter correlates in terms of influence.

“While this study concentrates on TV show exposure, Twitter influences more than that,” he says. “It influences brands and maximizes exposure for our clients. In its seventh year, Twitter proves to be an irreplaceable tool for marketers. Working with a social media agency has taught me that Twitter is essential for brand survival.”

The video also details Pinterest’s recent website makeover. Like its rivals Facebook, Tumblr and Tapiture, Pinterest made pictures bigger in its new layout. It also showcases a new ‘Discover’ feature, which could be extremely useful for marketers, Greening says. “When you click on a photo or video, related pins from the original source and the pinner will show up on the right hand side,” he says. “This links people back to brands and their pages, which could translate into more exposure and possibly an increase in sales. It’s could be used as a lure to get more people to their pages.”

Lastly, the video introduces Google’s new note-keeping service called Google Keep. Like Evernote, Google Keep allows Android users to create personal memos, notes, photos and voice recordings. “It’s a good tool for busy people that need something to help them organize their work or manage their time,” Greening says. “However, because it’s a lot like Evernote, it’s going to be interesting to see how tech gurus respond to it.”
