It’s not unusual to see all types of companies using Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter to get their name out there. From moisturizer brands to bigger names like Google, everyone out there is using social media in their marketing to increase rates and to manage their reputation.

While using social media in your personal life you typically share photos from moments in your life, share information, interact with your inner circle and ask for recommendations or advice. You express yourself and communicate; you don’t act as though you’re an automated robot and either should your company.

Building your brand with social media gives you the opportunity to succeed by asking fans and followers advice about new ideas and feedback (yes, even negative feedback helps!). As long as you have a system set up where the feedback and consumer ideas are considered and put in place, you’ll be benefitted by using social media as a tool for progress and growth.

Being engaging with your customers, clients or “fans” by posting interesting polls or fun contests lets them know that you value their opinion. Trying new things that you haven’t before never hurt, especially if it’s something that can help promote and build your brand in a way that wasn’t possible before.
