2 Websites for Keeping Up with the Latest Viral Trends and Memes

Do you find yourself out of the loop on the latest viral trends and memes? I could list off dozens of viable websites that you can visit, but who has the time to browse through such a large list? Instead, I am only going to offer two resources; these next two websites will have you covered. Please note that neither of these websites will replace wherever you currently go to obtain your daily tech news. We are discussing viral trends and memes, which is something that large tech websites, are slow in reporting.

Know Your Meme

This self-proclaimed internet meme database documents internet phenomena. If you are looking for an often updated encyclopedia of viral content, this is the closest thing you will find. Topics are laid out in an informative fashion, with sections detailing the origins and spread of each trend or meme. The search feature is incredibly handy, and you can easily lose hours browsing through the site. Know Your Meme is an informational warehouse, but it lacks a bit in the analysis component. That is why I am also recommending Viral Blog.

Viral Blog

This website takes a more academic and news-oriented approach when analyzing the latest viral trends and memes. It can be compared to tech sites like Mashable and TechCrunch, but with more of a viral bend. The blog averages between one to two posts a day, which is a good thing in my opinion. Each post is meaningful and well thought out (as opposed to some large sites that make money on page views, and subsequently release multiple articles discussing the same trending topic from slightly different perspectives).
