​When searching for items of interest or something you need, most people will think of the big company names. In business we all know it’s very hard to move people away form what they are comfortable with so when a new social media tool introduces itself it’s understandable when someone becomes confused.

Pinterest is an open field, for business. There are varieties of categories to capture anyone’s interest. Clothing, home décor, art, science, news, etc. These classifications are not ordinarily they are interesting, creative and sometimes unusual. So, you’re buyers are already in an open creative state of mine to discover your business.

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. It lets you share anything you find interesting on the web. You can organize your pins onto your personal pinboards. Pinterest provides you with a news feed which lets you find other peoples pin boards. You can follow them, and re-pin their items onto your pinboard. It links up to Facebook so you can follow your friends as well. These items link right back to the website it came from. What makes this website “cool” is that you have to have an invite to be on it.

Being a designer for a social media agency, Pinterest provides me with lots of inspiration for my designs. When I come across a great piece I am anxious to see where it came from and where I can buy it. Pinterest is like a scrapbook of things that make me happy, inspirited, aware and of course creative.
