Dear Facebook, congratulations on announcing your IPO. I’m happy for you, really. Rumors have been circulating that you are building a new search engine to coincide with your IPO to generate some more hype around the event (not that it needs any more hype, though). That’s a great idea considering the current search engine cannot even properly display fan pages in the correct order half the time. However, there is another pressing issue that you need to fix – Facebook tabs do not appear on mobile devices!

As a brand manager, I see the same question pop up every time we run a contest that contains an entry form located on a tab: why can’t I see the form? Because the form is on a tab. I understand that tabs are built in a million different ways and it would be nearly impossible to ensure that every single one works on a mobile platform. For example, most custom made tabs would not display properly. However, there should be an option for admins to enable or disable tabs for mobile users, especially if the tab is a simple image or entry form.
Tabs are a huge part of the fan page experience on Facebook. Most major brands have a couple of engaging tabs on their page, and mobile users are missing out.
