In a report from ABS-CBN News, The Malacañan Palace will have its own active Facebook and Tumblr page where citizens and tourists can share stories and photos of the palace. The Malacañan Palace Facebook page currently has 1,330 likes ABS-CBN News reports. In the article, Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda had commented on the social media pages stating they “were created ahead of the Malacañan Palace’s sesquicentennial in 2013, and were published in conjunction with the Presidential Museum and Library website.”
ABS-CBN News reports that Lacierda encourages citizens to become active on the Facebook page and to share stories and photos. According to the article, “The initiative is aimed at harnessing social media to share the history, residents, traditions, and legacy of Malacañan Palace to a diverse online audience,” Lacierda said, “[by] harnessing the Internet as a space for remembering… Malacañan Palace is opened to the public through inclusive and people-centric social media.”
